ROUND #2
It was another tough day on the links today and only Zach Byrd was able to shoot under par.
Another day of gusting winds up to 25 mph made this tight course play event tighter. With most
of leaders in the last group, Monday's leader George Carroll got off to a solid start with a
-1 under on the front side. Byrd was able to keep pace and close the gap with a -2 under front
side while both Bone and Veltman fell out of contention shooting +4. Carroll and Byrd both birdied #10 but Byrd kept the pressure
on as he managed to par 11-13 and birdie #14 to take the lead. Carroll made pars on 11 & 14 but bogied 12&13. Then disaster struck for Carroll
on #15. With a couple of balls finding the hazards, Carroll walked away from the par 4 hole with a 9. Byrd glided to the club house
with a back nine 33 to finish the day at -5 under 67 and a total winning score of 141.
